Since early last year, my family has embraced mask wearing – even before I did! It’s not that I opposed mask wearing (not at all), but I was pregnant for most of last year, so I was hunkering down at home a lot. I honestly thought that I wouldn’t need a mask by the time I had the baby. I was wrong because I think having masks in the house will always be useful for a number of reasons. Once I figured out fun, comfy, and safe ways to wear masks, I embraced it. As I am with everything, I like to do things in my style, and that includes fun and bold colors and patterns.
5 Reasons We Chose BioSkin Face Masks for Our Family:
1 – They are breathable and effective.
I have certainly put this to the test as I am often running up and down stairs and carrying a baby, or holding back one of three dogs. And yes, sometimes I’m wearing a mask to do so, because I do such things in public. BioSkin has had their fabrics tested at Nelson Labs, one of the most credible testing laboratories in the world, using a Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) test to study the effectiveness of BioSkin fabrics against an aerosolized pathogen. It feels better to wear masks made with lab-tested materials. You can find out more about it on their website.
2 – The masks are comfortable to wear.
The ear loop masks strike the balance between breathability and efficacy. And they’re made with a polyester-lycra blend, which is soft against our skin, and they have a stretch for added comfort.
3 – They are fun, colorful, and available in adult and youth sizes.
There are over 30 colors and patterns to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. I personally love to celebrate holidays, so why not do that with a mask as well? And with this hat straight from Ireland, I am truly celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in style this year!
4 – They are made for convenience.
That’s right! Each mask has a moldable nose piece, adjustable ear loops that cinch like drawstrings for a tighter fit, and a soft and breathable fabric. The masks are machine washable and can be placed in the dryer on tumble dry. Another awesome thing is that you can get double layer masks for extra protection. They have filter pockets. I have a whole set of these which I use for specific errands or when I’ll be in close proximity to other people. And something really important to add is that they won’t fog your glasses because of the adjustable nose piece. We have two glasses wearers in our family of five, so we get that!
5 – The masks that give back.
These masks, made in the USA in California and Oregon, can really make you feel good. To date, did you know that BioSkin has donated more than $125,000 from the proceeds of mask sales to organizations providing hunger relief during this unprecedented crisis? They’ve also donated to help people impacted by wildfires that have destroyed thousands of homes in Southern Oregon, including the homes of four of their employees.
